Home Sweet Home

In all of the craziness of the wedding planning, I feel like I haven't really realized how excited I am about actually being married! This past weekend Nathan & I went back to Belton to mow our completely neglected yard. We haven't had much time to go back so it has been almost a month since the grass had been mowed! Terrible, I know...Dad would be ashamed!

Considering we desperately needed to get away from work, school, and wedding planning, it was great for us to go back and work on our house! It's funny because we always say "our house" and if you don't know us you would probably assume we already live together which we don't! I guess we have both put so much work into fixing up the house and the yard together that it already feels like home. Like I said, more than anything it made me excited about being married! We have so much to look forward to!
Here are a few pictures of our house

You're getting married in 4 months?!?

My sister, Haley has been trying to suck me into getting a blog for a while but I have never really felt like I had anything interesting to talk about. Well, last Friday I finally found something to talk about so I am going to give this a try!

It was a pretty typical Friday...work all day and dinner with the family. Tori & Colin came down for the second weekend in a row since they were going to "miss Father's Day". After dinner we hit golf balls for a while until I decided I couldn't suck it up anymore! I can't explain why but for some strange reason I got the urge to jump on the mule and drive down to the pond. (If you know me, you know that is not something I usually do...it messes up my hair as Nathan says.) Nathan immediately jumped in and pushed me over so he could drive!

As we drove Nathan kept saying really sweet things and I kept asking what was wrong with him… I promise he really is sweet it just seemed random! As we rounded the pond, I saw tiki torches and a blanket in the distance. I really don’t think it clicked as to what was going on. I mean as a typical girl the whole idea that he might actually propose right then in there seemed perfect but I didn’t want to assume that and look like an idiot!

He then carried me over to the blanket because I of course, did not wear shoes! From there he said all of the really sweet things that guys do when they propose and I was the giddy stupid girl that couldn’t believe it was really happening and kept asking if he was joking! I think in the mix of it all I eventually said yes. The most exciting part was when he asked me if October 17th would work for me which I of course was ecstatic about but completely in shock! I wasn’t surprised that he proposed, only how quickly he had done it…I was expecting October for a proposal!

The wedding planning is now in full force! Within the first 24 hours I think my Mom had everything planned from dresses to flowers to food. Here we go…less than 4 months!!

Where he proposed!

I'm not sure if he knows what he is getting into!
